Why the third day makes all the difference!

So what does it take to become a successful spiritual advisor?
Retention! Keep those existing clients coming back.

We at the Advisor Success Team are constantly developing new insights based on your experiences. Here’s one of the most interesting discoveries we’ve recently made: Third day readings are likely to lead to more.

As opposed to a timeline of three consecutive readings, the 3rd day reading is one that occurs on 3 different days (lifetime) with a single client. This means, for example, that they might have had two readings on two different days with you a year ago and have now come back for a third. So just why do 3rd day readings lead to more? Because that’s when you’ve started to develop a relationship with your client, one that will cultivate client loyalty. In fact, when we conducted research with clients, we found that those who have fewer readings per day, but have more reading days per advisor, are more likely to stay with those advisors long term.

Here are the fascinating statistics we discovered:

  • 65% of the clients who reach the 2nd day will continue to day 3

  • 82% of day 3 clients will continue to day 4

  • 86% of day 4 clients will continue to day 5

  • 87% of day 5 clients will continue to day 6

You probably get the picture :)

Developing a Relationship With Your Client

Developing a strong relationship with a client works the same way as a friendship or romantic relationship. It goes a little something like this:

The first day reading: You’ve struck a chord with the client. They’ve gotten a good vibe from how you present yourself—be it your picture, description, or rating—and their intuition tells them to give you a try.

When you agree to a first date with someone, you’re completely relying on your gut to know if that person is worth spending time with. You’re hyper-aware of how they communicate, what they say, what you have in common and what you don’t. You have a clear idea of what it takes to keep up a relationship, and that means they need to check off some important items on your list. It matters less what you do on your first date, and more how you were able to get along and connect.

The second day reading: You made a great impression. You met their expectations and there’s something about your personality, reading styles and methods that they connect to.

Back to the dating example, the second date gives you more clarity about the quality of the connection between you and how it makes you feel. If you feel positive about the relationship, you’ll want to keep it up. Intrigue plays a big factor here as well. There’s something about the other person that you want to experience and learn more about.

The third day reading: This is the crucial tipping point. It’s when you can be sure that your clients value being connected with you. In other words, your relationship has begun. You have now gained their confidence and trust. Now the work is maintaining that!

The Positive Impacts of Follow-Up

Just as with dating, you have to maintain an open line of communication with a client in between meetings. This is a dance between showing you care without appearing overly-eager. Use the Messages/Scheduled Messages to develop a flow with each client that involves a quick followup a few hours/days after each meeting, then perhaps another check-in a week or so later. Your goal is to make sure they know you’re always there for them. Just remember to be creative. Additional suggestions are:

  1. Send updates on an upcoming astrological event that will affect them or a “daily tarot card.”

  2. Point out relevant topics you may specialize in.

  3. Teach the client some meditation skills.

  4. Offer a short dream analysis or anything else you can think of that adds value to your client but doesn’t take up too much of your own unpaid time.

Do this, and you can be sure that your client will come back for that crucial 3rd day reading and beyond.
