Win Customers Over with These Reading Tips

Clients are looking for answers, great service and even more than that, clients are looking for a great experience! This can be created by first getting the full picture of a client’s life situation and questions, and then making sure you’re giving them a full answer (reading).

Once you have the client’s details (please read Making the Best First Impression), it’s time to share your insights with the client, exceed their expectations, and give them the best reading they’ve ever had! The best way to do this is to provide a detailed reading using descriptive language, specific to them and what they asked. Pay attention to what category they came from and what type of reading they are expecting- for instance, if they come from the Tarot category and you don’t mention anything about their Tarot cards this can be disappointing and it makes you seem less professional.

Focus on their questions, but go the extra mile by offering insight into other areas as well. If you pick up on anything about the client’s life that is off their main topic, mention this as a side note to the client and make sure to give them the option to either prioritize this topic or get back to it later.

Use the client’s name throughout the reading - it is a proven fact that using someone’s name while talking to them keeps them engaged and makes them feel special. As it is the first time you’re meeting them, it is best to refrain from using endearing names such as “dear” or “sweetie”.

For the most part, people really love insight into their personality and who they are. Once you connect with the client and acknowledge their question, you can add your impression of who they are and what they are like. For example if you see they are sensitive, proactive, introvert, ambitious etc. Let them know! People like to hear more about themselves.

Set expectations by letting the client know that all of us have free will and our lives are dynamic- everything can change and what you’re telling them isn’t set in stone, at any time things can change based on their actions and thoughts. One always has a major impact on what is going to happen with their lives.

Clients appreciate honesty! Don’t tell them what you think they want to hear, even if it isn’t the best news. If your predictions aren’t positive, make sure to be caring, respectful and always give the client hope. When will things get better for them? Do they have another area of their lives that is about to thrive? What can they do to change things for the better?

Always be service oriented. The most important thing to keep in mind is that you’re here to help your clients, sometimes in the most difficult times of their lives. Most clients are in a tailspin and need someone to listen and help them calm down. Advise and guide them in the most professional way, let them know you’re there for them and truly care, creating a supportive relationship with them will guarantee yours and their satisfaction.

Please note, every client and every reading is individual. It’s important to implement these tips, but it is also important to feel the client out and pay attention to how they are interacting with you, so you can adjust your reading to accommodate their needs. The most important thing is to always be attentive to why the client is reaching out to you, helping them get answers to their questions.
